When it comes to Christmas, it’s easy to think how good it would be if you had a significant other in your life. But, being in a relationship over Christmas really isn’t everything it’s thought to be. Here are 7 reasons why being single over Christmas is so great!
1. It’s cheaper
Forget spending all your money on someone else, it’s time to treat yo’self! Remember that handbag you’ve wanted for ages or that pair of trainers? Now’s the time to buy what you’ve been lusting over for the last three months.
2. You don’t have to share
Chocolates, presents… everything is now yours, and only yours. All you favourite chocolates in the selection box now have your name on.
3. No family politics
Awkward family parties? No thanks. There’s nothing worse than socialising with people you don’t want to talk to, especially if you’re more of an introvert. Wave goodbye to those awkward conversations!
4. You get to do exactly what you want
You can do what you want, when you want. It’s time to be a little selfish and put yourself FIRST.
5. You can spend NYE with your friends
You don’t have to worry about who you’re going to spend NYE with, or who’s going to be most upset out of your partner or your friends. Friends it is! No partner, no hassle.
6. No drama
Arguing over which house to go to first on Christmas Day. Fighting over how much to spend on your mother-in-law. Who’s doing the washing up. Wondering what time to open presents. Nope, you’ll be having none of that.
7. You can watch all the films
Whether it’s The Grinch, Elf or Bridget Jones… you can go all out! Why not even watch them all back to back, or just The Grinch on repeat. The options are endless and all yours.
